Used Kia Mentor

Used Kia Mentor

It was the second model of family type made by the Korean company which reached the shores of the UK in 1994. Those who are not keen on Kia cars would probably say that the used Kia Mentor is a combination of fundamentals of Mazda 121 and handling of Lotus. But those fond of Kia would surely advise of buying the car which can be characterised with reliability and good price-to-value ratio. At the time of its launch back in June 1994, the Kia Mentor was the Korean bestselling car. The vehicle was available in two main versions: a five-door equipped with a 1.5 litre engine and a four-door containing a 1.6 litre power plant. The car interior, as actually expected of a family wagon, offers a surprising amount of space which can be described as ‘a lot more’ than in any of its rivals at the time of launch. The equipment on board is rather standard and includes such features as electrically-powered windows, electric mirrors, all-round-central locking and tilt-adjustable steering. The entertainment is a little bit limited to a four-speaker, but pretty powerful, stereo. The road performance is quite decent, yet the Kia Mentor shall not be recommended to driving enthusiasts. On the contrary, it is rather a more valuable option for people willing to get from point A to B in the most comfortable possible conditions. The acceleration from zero to sixty mph will take more than the average 10 seconds, but it does not seem to be the case for a family car. Still, the car handling is pretty superb and climbing up the hill will not make any impression on the installed power plants. The Kia Mentor has a real advantage in its price, reliability, safety and economy. Both the fuel consumption and maintenance costs are reasonably low, not to say cheap in general, which makes the car a very affordable used buy. If someone looks round for a nice car for travelling and does not really care about badge prestige or driving excitement, the Kia Mentor would be the right choice.
